About Brier Island Foundation
Our Mission
The Brier Island Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the community of Brier Island, Nova Scotia. We strive to raise funds that directly benefit our community and support various local initiatives.
Support Brier Island!
Donate to the Foundation
Your generous donations help the Brier Island Foundation continue its vital work in our community. Every contribution goes directly to projects that enhance life on Brier Island and support local initiatives. We have partnered with the Community Foundation of Nova Scotia to establish the Brier Island Community Fund.
Capital Campaign
Our current capital campaign is to support the Slocum Boot Shop in partnership with the Joshua Slocum Society. They are seeking $10,000 this fall in community support to install new support beams under the building and to raise it up to keep tide and storm waters out.

Grants and Projects on Brier Island
We are off to a great start! The Brier Island Foundation has helped raise $30,940 so far in the first few months since taking off. In order to ensure community transparency, we will continually update our list of Grants and Donations and show how these funds will be allocated to partner organizations and community projects.

The Brier Island Foundation
Welcome to the new Board of Directors and the Executive Team of the Brier Island Foundation. The Foundation was officially incorporated on February 18th, 2025 and the the First Directors Meeting was held on March 11th, 2025 to establish the team. Our second board meeting was held on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025. The Executive Committee meets more regularly between board meetings.
